Andrea Kraus is the First Lambert Award Winner

The Lambert Award for Young Statisticians has been presented to Dr. Kraus, during the Swiss Statistics Meeting in Basel, on the 17th of October 2013.

The Johann Heinrich Lambert Award of the Swiss Statistical Society has been established in 2013 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Society, by rewarding a young scientist (up to age 35) for his or her outstanding contributions in any area of statistics. This event is part of the celebrations for the International Year of Statistics "Statistics2013".

Dr. Andrea Kraus-Kvitkovičová shares her time between the Chair of Mathematical Statistics (SMAT-EPFL) and the Division of Biostatistics of the Zürich University. Her main interests are the study of stochastic models for epidemics and the reliable estimation of their parameters in an early phase.
