Prof. Melody Swartz, Head of the Laboratory of Lymphatic and Cancer Bioengineering, is one of the 2012 MacArthur Foundation Fellows

Melody Swartz, member of the IBI-Interfaculty Institute of Bioengineering (School of Life Sciences & School of Engineering) and affiliated to the ISREC Institute (homed at the EPFL School of Life Sciences), was announced as a 2012 MacArthur Foundation Fellow. The MacArthur Foundation Fellows are selected from US and US-resident scholars from all fields of human endeavor, spanning the arts, letters and sciences, to acknowledge "talented individuals who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction." The Fellowship, with a stipend of $500,000, is one of the most substantial awards in the United States to recognize originality and creativity.
