Exhibition in the Project Room

The Project Room is the new name given to the foyer of the SG building at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). A program of architectural exhibitions and various lectures will be regularly organized there, providing a place for meeting and mingling, in synergies with Archizoom activities. An exhibition called Domestic Landscape, showing the work made in every design studios of the school, will be presented in the Project Room during the whole semester. In that context, the studio of Prof. Emmanuel Rey shows a selection of models made at different scales by students.

The purpose of the exhibition is a dual one : inside of the school, it offers students and teachers the possibility to easily understand what every atelier is busy with, to compare their interests, to grasp their teaching methods and so forth; the second purpose is related to visitors coming from other schools or from the professional world, Domestic Landscape will offer them a compact yet clear overview of all the design-related activities of the school.

In short Domestic Landscape acts as a vitrine for the teaching and research activities of the Section of architecture (SAR).

The space is allotted in smaller equal portions, each one to be assigned to an atelier. LAST's studio currently presents models selected from student works in the URBAN LAKESIDE studio (2012-2013) and the URBAN REGENERATION studio (2013-2014) showing the specific approach developed from urban design to constructive detail.

By this approach, LAST's studio aims precisely at analyzing, exploring and experimenting specific issues to the contribution of architecture to sustainable urban development.
