Green Light for Construction of Giant European Telescope !

The ESO council gave its green light on December 4, 2014 for the construction of the largest telescope ever built: the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT). The first light of the telescope, with a giant mirror of 39m in diameter, will take place in a decade from now, ensuring the best possible scientific results for the next generation of young astrophysicists.
