Professor Gary Marquis (Aalto University, Finland) visits ICOM for 2 months.
Professor Gary Marquis (Aalto University, Finland) is a well known specialist in (multi-axial) fatigue. He has published numerous papers and a reference book on this topic with D. Socie (http://books.sae.org/book-r-234). Furthermore, he is the president of Commission XIII of IIW "fatigue of welded components and structures".
During October and November 2012, Prof. Marquis visits the ICOM Steel Structures Laboratory to draft a new IIW recommendation on High Frequency Post Weld Treatments. He is collaborating with Prof. Alain Nussbaumer on issues related to PWT, use of local stress approaches and multi-axial fatigue of high strength steels.
