IDEAS Lecture | 15 April 2015

Pascal GONTIER will be the speaker of the next IDEAS Lecture, entitled "Susatinable architecture and transitions". It will take place on Wednesday April 15th, 2015 at 2:15 pm in room CO 121 (Building CO).

The axis Integrated Design, Architecture and Sustainability (IDEAS) is a joint initiative of both the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Performance-Integrated Design (LIPID) and Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) of the ENAC School at EPFL. It aims to address an increased integration of the various issues related to sustainable architecture within the framework of the Doctoral program Architecture & Science of the city (EDAR).

In this lecture, which is organized within the framework of the IDEAS Module 1 course "Architecture and sustainability: critical approaches", Pascal Gontier will present his vision of sustainable architecture based on his recent works and realizations.

Born in Paris in 1963, Pascal Gontier graduated from School of Architecture of Versailles (Paris). He obtained a Post grade diploma from Ecole polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Architecture and sustainable development, and a European Master in Architecture and sustainable development ((EPFL, Architecture et Climat Université de Louvain, Greco-Ecoles d'architecture de Toulouse et Montpellier, Architectural Association of architecture - Londres). In 1997, he creates the Atelier Pascal Gontier. His approach has always been grounded in a fascination with innovation and experimentation as well as a strong commitment to and major expertise in sustainable development. Pascal Gontier is also professor in the Architecture School of Paris Malaquais.
