The book, coordinated by the Energy Center, has been awarded the Coup de coeur from the media at the 28th Prix Roberval, which distinguishes books popularizing science.

The selection was tough! More than one hundred books were in the running of the 28th edition of the Prix Roberval. The international competition distinguishes francophone literature on technological explanation. Only seven were rewarded, amongst which the book coordinated by the Energy Center « Les enjeux de la transition énergétique suisse. Comprendre pour choisir 100 questions-réponses ». The book, written by Daniel Favrat and François Vuille from the Energy Centre and Suren Erkman of the University of Lausanne, won the « Coup de coeur » from the media.

The jury has been very complimentary, and has emphasized the many qualities of a book qualified as "realistic, objective, comprehensive despite its small size, rigorously constructed and with great clarity ». It clearly achieved its goal "to help consumers and decision makers to make reasoned opinion before knowingly deciding in the near future." The jury concluded that "the book deserves to be more widely available to citizens and decision makers."

The book addresses through 100 questions and answers key issues of the energy transition in Switzerland. It was published in its entirety in the spring 2015 at the Presses polytechniques et universitaires romandes (PPUR). A pocket version, taking up more concisely the 100 questions and answers, was released in October, also at PPUR. Both books have also been published in German.
