Michael Grätzel awarded the Albert Einstein World Award of Science.
22.02.12 - The Interdisciplinary Committee of the World Cultural Council has selected Prof. Michael Grätzel as the winner of the ALBERT EINSTEIN World Award of Science
2012.
The ALBERT EINSTEIN World Award is a highly prestigious acknowledgement from outstanding personalities of the scientific community over five continents, all members of the World Cultural Council.
The prize is awarded to Prof. Michael Grätzel (LPI - Laboratory of Photonics and Interfaces) for his outstanding accomplishments to the welfare of mankind and the health of the planet, solving arguably one of the most important technical problems relating to energy and sustainability that we face today through a major contribution, the development of the Grätzel Cell. The invention and development of the dye-sensitized solar cells has been very promising and is leading to a break-through which will strongly influence the
possibilities to increase consumption of renewable solar energy.
The 29th Award Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April18th at Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark
