Passive Low Energy Architecture International Conference in Lima
The 28th edition of the International Conference on Passive Low Energy Architecture (PLEA) was held in Lima, Peru, from 7th to 9th November 2012. On this occasion, the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) presented three articles concerning research on the integration of sustainability criteria into the design process.
PLEA is an organization engaged in a worldwide discourse on sustainable architecture and urban design through international conferences, workshops and publications. It has a membership of several thousand professionals, academics and students from over 40 countries.
Since 1982, PLEA organizes an annual international conference across the globe. Entitled "Towards an environmentally responsible architecture. Opportunities, limits and needs", this edition was organized by the Centro de Investigación de la Arquitectura y la Ciudad (CIAC) at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) in Lima. Prof. Emmanuel Rey figured amongst the members of the International Technical Committee.
Based on several ongoing research, the laboratory LAST presented three articles on this occasion dealing with the integration of sustainability criteria at the building and neighborhood scale :
