The ceremony of the Global Award Bronze 2015, 4th competition rewarding the best projects and visions in sustainable construction, initiated by LafargeHolcim Foundation, took place in New York, USA, on September 24, 2015. It was preceded by the first Next Generation Lab, held at the KnickerBocker Hotel with over 50 young laureates from all over the world. Prof. Marilyne Andersen has participated to both events, and was invited to give a lecture at Columbia University on the topic of sustainable design.

Prof. Marilyne Andersen was one of the six moderators for the Next Generation M-Lab. The objective of this event was to enable the 53 young laureates of the LafargeHolcim Next Generation prizes to interact, present and exchange on their respective projects and visions, and engage in a debate on criteria for the future of sustainable construction. She was also present at the evening award ceremony as a member of LafargeHolcim Foundation Board, that she joined in January 2015. She took this opportunity to give a guest lecture at the Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (Columbia GSAPP) to Master students in the course entitled "Sustainable Design" by Prof. Davidson Norris from the James Carpenter Associates Office. Marilyne Andersen talked about the smart living lab development and research program, as well as advances on perceptual issues in daylighting, based on the research work by three of her PhD students (Siobhan Rockcastle, Mandana Sarey Khanie and Maria Amundadottir (Phd projects).
