The "Divisionnaire F.-K. Rünzi" Award to Jacques Fellay

Our warm congratulations to Prof. Jacques Fellay, researcher on translational genomics, who will be awarded the « Divisionnaire F.-K. Rünzi » Foundation Award, next September. This Prize is presented each year to a famous national and international personality from the Canton of Valais.

Jacques Fellay is a medical scientist with a wide expertise in infectious diseases and human genomics. He obtained his MD from the University of Lausanne in 2002 and was clinically trained in infectious diseases in Switzerland, before moving to Duke University (Durham, NC, USA), where he worked from 2006 to 2010 on human genomics of infections in David Goldstein’s Center for Human Genome Variation. Jacques joined the EPFL in April 2011 with an SNF Professorship Award.

He is also a Visiting Physician at the Institute of Microbiology and at the Service of Infectious Diseases of the University Hospital (CHUV) in Lausanne.

In 2012, he was also awarded the prestigious national Latsis Award for his research on genetic variations in the human genome and their effects on the treatment and reaction to viruses.
