Two BMI students awarded for their outstanding thesis

On the occasion of last BMI Retreat held in Haute-Nendaz on June 18-19, 2015 Dr Aurélie Pala and Dr Christian A. Pozzoni, from the Brain Mind Institute were awarded the 2014 Best BMI Thesis Award.

Dr Aurélie Pala performed her thesis in the Sensory Processing Laboratory headed by Professor Carl Petersen. Her thesis “In vivo measurement of excitatory synaptic transmission between identified neurons in layer 2/3 mouse barrel cortex” was undertaken from September 2009 to October 2014 within the EPFL PhD Program in Neuroscience.

Dr Christian A. Pozzorini accomplished his thesis in the Computational Neuroscience Laboratory headed by Professor Wulfram Gerstner. His thesis “Computational principles of single neuron adaptation” was undertaken from May 2010 to December 2014 within the EPFL PhD Program in Neuroscience.
