About AGEPoly
Your Association!
The mission of AGEPoly - the EPFL student association – is to defend the interests of all students, to inform and consult them. It also aims to spice up campus life and provide services to make students’ life easier.
The AGEPoly association is made up of an Executive Committee of eight members. It includes 18 committees covering various activities – building robots, sailing, cinema or Japan, for instance.
AGEPoly activities focus on three major themes – representation, services and sports & fun.
Representing and defending students’ interests is paramount, and AGEPolytique organises weekly meetings for all interested. It keeps abreast of decisions affecting students and takes action whenever necessary, both at EPFL level and on the national and international scene. The three major subjects tackled recently were the infamous study fee, the SHS programme and the introduction of compulsory internships.
The sports & fun division aims to provide entertainment and enable students to meet their peers via sports or leisure. Major events are the start of term and Christmas balls, Polyski and skating outings and entertainment on the occasion of Vivapoly.
PolyNITE is another major event to which all students are invited to celebrate the start of the academic year. Free of charge, with a movie and food & drinks at discount prices, this is an evening not to be missed!
The service arm of AGEPoly provides special offers for students – e.g. clothes or sports equipment sales or discounts in driving schools, pharmacies, restaurants or sports shops.
And don't forget the book exchange where you can find reasonable course books in good condition. Any student may offer or purchase books there http://agepoly.epfl.ch/bourse/
Please contact us if you feel like getting involved in one of the many associations or activities. This will enable you to get experience in event management and taking responsibilities, and it is a good way to meet people from various horizons.
Finally, AGEPoly listens to you. You may contact the Committee members at all times with observations or questions. Their e-mails are provided on the website agepoly.epfl.ch. The AGEPoly boutique also has a suggestions box.
