Control strategies for load-following unbalanced microgrids islanded operation. Dir.: Prof. Rachid Cherkaoui

"For proposing an original solution for the control of microgrids when voltage unbalances occur, based on storage components combined with voltage converters"

Control strategies for load-following unbalanced microgrids islanded operation.

Dispersed generation has the potential to solve major problems arising in today's energy distributing systems. The European MicroGrids Project introduces a system approach, considering generation and associated loads as a subsystem, the "MicroGrid". This concept was investigated and approved in numerous studies dealing with perfectly balanced three-phase three-wire systems. The present master thesis focused on MicroGrid control strategies when voltage unbalance occurs during islanded operation in a three-phase four-wire configuration. Simulation results allowed drawing conclusions about the robustness and necessary adaptations were presented.
