A team from the Institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering (ISIC) took part in the Cyclotour du Léman event on May 28 and 29. They completed the 180-kilometer ride in just seven hours.

On simple pedal power, EPFL scientists took up the challenge of circling Lake Geneva on the weekend of May 28 and 29. More than 2700 cyclists tackled the roads around the lake for the 8th Cyclotour du Léman. Four members of the ISIC took part in the event. Starting off from Lausanne, they all managed to complete the distance in around just seven hours – 180 kilometers and 890 meters difference in altitude! Their performance was all the more impressive in that two of the riders were taking up the challenge for the first time.

The man behind the event, Pierre-André Perroud lead a team made up of André Fattet, Guillaume Francey and Yves Morier, from EPFL’s Mechanical Workshops. Many other colleagues showed themselves to be ardent supporters of the team. This proved to be important, especially as it involved some heavy pedaling in very warm weather! In spite of the aches and pains, the team members enjoyed their adventure and already keen to sign up for the next event.
