This handbook was designed in order to provide a simple and proven solution for civil engineers to evaluate (when laboratory tests are in- existent or insufficient) or to check calculation values of soil properties using correlations. This method for checking or evaluating soil characteristics used in projects is prescribed by Eurocode 7: the European standard for foundations, earthworks and underground structures. A veritable reference book for practising construction engineers and civil engineering students. Writing this handbook was supported by a grant from the Federal Roads Office.
