The installation of the reduced scale physical model of the bulb turbine for Qian Wei Hydropower Station has been completed on test rig PF1 of EPFL-LMH. A test campaign aiming at the contractual verification of the hydropower performance of the bulb turbine developed by Toshiba Corporation will follow.

The Qian Wei Hydropower Station will be located on the Minjiang River, Leshan in the Sichuan Province of China. It will features 5 units of 55.6 MW rated power each for a total installed capacity of 278 MW. The hydropower plant is owned by Sichuan Minjiang Port & Shipping & Electricity Power Development Co., Ltd.
