Prof. Marie Violay awarded with the ERC Starting Grant 2017!

The grants are awarded under the 'excellent science' pillar of Horizon 2020, the EU's research and innovation program.
Prof. Violay was just recently awarded a ERC Starting Grant in the area of Earth System Science (Physical Sciences and Engineering domain) with the project BEFINE: mechanical BEhavior of Fluid-INduced Earthquakes.
The funding, provided by the European Research Council, aims to support the new generation of researchers in Europe, helping to build and strength their research groups.
Prof. Violay arrived at EPFL on the 1st of July 2015. Since then, 4 PhD and 2 Postdocs have joined the LEMR team. The ERC is, without doubt, a recognition of her work during her outstanding research career in the field of earth sciences and engineering. Congratulations!
