Early adopter of the online thematic collections from Wiley, the EPFL Library continuously expands its offer for the EPFL community. Since 2016, the entire collection of journals available on the platform Wiley Online Library is accessible at EPFL. This platform offers more than 6 million of articles published in about 1'500 journals, including titles published with the partnership of prestigious scholarly and professional societies. Wiley publications cover all scientific domains, from the life sciences to social sciences, including physics and mathematics.
The EPFL Library, with the collaboration of the Consortium of the Swiss Academic Libraries, negotiates every year the licensing agreement with Wiley. The requirements of the Library deal with the financial aspects as well as the long-term preservation of access rights. Major scientific issues, such as the publication in Open Access (OA) and the Text and Data Mining (TDM) are also discussed during negotiations.
Currently, the EPFL Library has an agreement with Wiley allowing affiliated authors to receive 15% discount on Open Access (hybrid and pure Gold OA) publication charges.
