Dr. Florian Breider has recently joined the LTQE Lab. His research interests concern the origin and the fate of contaminants in natural and engineered aquatic systems. Specifically, his research focuses on the study of the formation and degradation mechanisms of organic and inorganic compounds using cutting-edge analytical methods such as ultra-high resolution and isotope ratio mass spectrometry.

His research at the LTQE lab will focus on:
- Development of analytical methods to identify unknown oxidation/disinfection by-products
- Formation mechanisms of N-nitrosamines
- Kinetics and degradation mechanisms of micropollutants
- Role of the natural organic matter in the degradation of iodinated X-ray contrast agents
