Duygu Ceylan, a former EPFL PhD student, is one of the two 2015 Recipients of this Award.

Eurographics is the European association for computer graphics, and its annual award recognizes the best PhD thesis in this area. The aim is to recognize good thesis work in Europe, to incentivize young researchers, and to offer them the opportunity to publish the state of the art section of their thesis in the Computer Graphics Forum Journal.

Duygu Ceylan was a PhD student at the Computer Graphics and Geometry Laboratory at EPFL, working with Prof Mark Pauly. She pioneered new algorithms for image-based 3D reconstruction and modeling based on symmetry priors. After her Ph.D., she joined Adobe Research, where her current research interests include 3D acquisition, shape analysis, and fabrication.
