Ivo Furno named APS Fellow

Ivo Furno has been elected Fellow of the American Physical Society.

The Council of Representatives of the American Physical Society (APS) acted the nomination of Ivo Furno for Fellowship in the Society upon the recommendation of the Division of Plasma Physics.

The citation reads as follows: ‘For fundamental experimental work involving the physical, statistical, and transport properties of self-organized plasma blobs at the edge of magnetized plasmas.’

Election to Fellowship in the American Physical Society is limited to no more than one half of one percent of the membership and is recognition by the peers of the outstanding contributions to physics.
