We are very pleased to announce and cordially invite you to our monthly EPFL Photonics Chapter (EPC) 'Pizza-optics-beer' (POB) seminar on November 4th, 2015 (Wednesday) at 18h15 (6.15pm). The seminar will take place in the room CM1120. This month Donald Conkey will give us some insights in his field of expertise. His presentation is entitled: “Light control through highly scattering media”.

 Abstract:
Imaging inside opaque, highly scattering materials is a long sought after capability with potential applications in a variety of fields, such as biomedical imaging. Recently, the use of wavefront shaping to compensate for scattering has provided a potential solution to this limitation. Interestingly, these wavefront shaping techniques which can be used for overcoming material scattering can also be applied to multimode and multicore fibers which could potentially be used in endoscope devices to bypass scattering layers. In this presentation I discuss several advancements in light control through scattering media, including high-speed wavefront modulation and photoacoustic feedback for optimization. I will also present the use of multicore fibers for multi-photon endoscope imaging.
