Prof. Tony Paxton (King's College London) will be visiting the Lab and give two lectures on "Tight binding approximation
for simulation of condensed matter" on Tuesday 11th August and Thurdsday 13th August at 4PM in room MXC 320.

Prof. Paxton was one of the first developers of the tight binding model - probably the simplest quantum
mechanical scheme that can account for bond breaking. He will be visiting from Monday 10th to Friday 15th with support from the MARVEL NCCR, and give a short series of lectures on the original idea of tight binding as well as on the latest developments and applications.
