The IT Security and the VPSI Communication teams are pleased to announce the publication of “The Little Illustrated Guide to IT Security – How to be prepared for cyber attacks”.

The security of our information is everyone’s concern. As you will have noticed over these last few months, we are all increasingly exposed to threats in the course of our personal and professional activities. Through a variety of security-related messages from our services, we have reminded you of these risks all through the year. This is why our teams have decided to provide you with a guide to keep you better informed.

How to obtain it?
• Online, in PDF format, in the VPSI website
• At the IS Service Desk reception (MA.A0.388)
• At various points on the campus
• On request from: [email protected]

We are the weakest link!
90% of intrusions in our IT infrastructure, or security-related incidents, are a result of human error. This can range from simply opening an infected attachment, through the use or sharing of a pirated application, to the theft of EPFL passwords and logins.
To combat this, you simply need to adopt a few good practices, and especially to use your common sense. You can find out how by reading the “The Little Illustrated Guide to IT Security – How to be prepared for cyber attacks”.

Ignorance is no excuse.
We would respectfully remind you that all employees are subject to the Directives concerning use of EPFL electronic infrastructure, which is available online on Polylex. We therefore request you to take careful note of this, as you are responsible in the case of non-respect of these regulations.

The IS Service Desk is ready to answer your questions on IT security by telephone on 1234, or by e-mail on [email protected] from Monday to Friday, and from 08:00 to 18:00.

We hope you enjoy reading our little guide.
