LSMS is happy to invite you to a Conférence to be held by François Renard, University Joseph Fourier of Grenoble, France :
Scale-free geometry of faults in rocks, from the scale of microfractures to the scale of continents

François Renard is Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Grenoble (France) since 2007. He is also member member of the Institut Universitaire de France, and Adjunct Professor in Physics of Geological Processes of the University of Oslo, Norway. He is leader of the Fault Mechanics research team at the Institut des Sciences de la Terre, Grenoble. His main research interest concern the Physics and Chemistry of deformation processes in the Earth upper crust, with application to the dynamics of active faults during the seismic cycle.
