Christophe Ballif in the media: Comments in "Schweiz aktuell" (SRF1)

The Swiss television SRF1 (in german) broadcasted a series about the future of the electricity in Switzerland. In the news magazine “Schweiz aktuell” the most actual questions arising after the decision to phase-out of nuclear energy are discussed by renowned representatives from science and politics. Over one week (30.4.-4.5.2018), each day the focus is set to a different topic how the increasing demand of electricity can be covered. In the report about solar energy (Thursday, 3.5.2018) Prof. Christophe Ballif commented on the role of photovoltaics and presented its potential as a renewable electricity source. Additionally, the Swiss radio RTS1 (in French) broadcasted in its science magazine "CQFD" a report on Anne Quéméré who will navigate from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean through the Canadian Arctic without gasoline or a sail, only propelled by solar panels. A big challenge at the pole where the sun is never very high in the sky. For this task, ultra-performing solar panels were developed by the Swiss Centre for Electronics and Microtechnology in Neuchâtel (CSEM). Prof. Christophe Ballif, as director of the Photovoltaic Centre at CSEM, comments on the technical requirements and their solutions for such a demanding task.
