On October 7th, the EPFL held its 2017 Graduation Ceremony at the EPFL SwissTech Convention Center. During this ceremony, 29 students of the Master in Financial Engineering (MFE) and 21 students of the Master in Management, Technology & Entrepreneurship (MTE) were awarded their diplomas in the company of professors, industry partners, families and friends.

In addition, academic excellence prizes, sponsored by CDM industry partners, awarded the best students of each programme.

Pierre Edouard Vidal received the 2017 Swatch Group Award, that recognizes the Management, Technology & Entrepreneurship student with the highest average grade. In Financial Engineering, Alexandra Shamraeva and Johnny Espin won respectively the SwissLife Award for the best student and the BCV prize for the second best student.

Several teaching awards have also been delivered:

Financial Engineering

  • Teaching prizes : (ex-aequo) Professor Ruediger Fahlenbrach for his courses "Introduction to Finance and Venture capital" and Professor Julien Hugonnier for his "Derivatives" course.
  • Best Teaching assistant: Damien Ackerer for his work in the "Derivatives" course.

Master in Management, Technology & Entrepreneurship

  • Best teacher awards : Prof. Ralf Seifert for "Supply Chain Management", Prof. Gaétan de Rassenfosse for "Economics of innovation and IP", Prof. Kenneth Younge for "Data Science for Business".
  • Best teaching assistants : Charles Ayoubi and Mervegül Kirci.
