EESD study trip to area affected by Central Italy earthquakes in 2016
Together with Prof. Andrea Penna, Dr. Ilaria Senaldi and Dr. Gabriele Guerrini from the University of Pavia, Italy, who know the area well from various reconnaissance missions, we visited on July 28 & 29 the region that was affected by the Central Italy earthquakes last year. We studied in particular the damage to stone masonry buildings in Visso, Ussita, Castelangelo sul Nera, Camerino, Norcia and Amatrice but also paid attention to the many RC frames with masonry infills that were heavily damaged. Photos from this trip will be available shortly in the Gallery where already photos from other reconnaissance missions are available.
