PEL PhD Thesis - Mr. Alexandre Christe

Mr. Alexandre Christe has succesfully defended his PhD thesis, titled "Galvanically Isolated Modular Converter". The examination committee was composed of: Dr. Tobias Geyer (ABB, Switzerland), Prof. Marc Hiller (KIT, Germany), Prof. Alfred Rufer (EPFL, Switzerland) and supported by Prof. Mario Paolone (EPFL, Switzerland). Thesis deals with high power MVDC to LVAC conversion by means of modular multilevel converter (MMC) and explores the integration of the line frequency transformer directly into the structure of the MMC. 

Alex will be soon joining ABB Corporate Research in Västeras, Sweden, continuing to work on advanced power electronics technologies.
